The history
The Piacentine branch of the Marazzani family from Rimini begins with Melchiorre 1st, who united in marriage with Antonia Landi, descendant of a famous Piacentine family, moved permanently to Piacenza where, with the notary act of 7th June 1453, was invested by the powerful abbot of San Savino with a large property in the Paderna territory which consisted of houses, among which the old local castle, and vast areas of land with fishing and hunting rights. On 28th June 1605 Lodovico Marazzani obtained the title of count of Paderna and Case Riglio from the Duke Ranuccio 1st Farnese. This included the stately home of Case Riglio which as well as the Castle of Paderna belongs to this day to the decendants of the Marazzani family, in fact to the Countess Stefania Bianchi Michiel, granddaughter of Maria Dolores Marazzani Visconti.
